Interview with , sci-fi writer.
How did you first discover deviantArt?
I first discovered deviant art through some friends in my senior year of highschool, though it wasn't until last summer that I really got started contributing art.
What made you want to stay?
I think that the possibility to find other people who like and create the same kinds of art while still broadening my visions really hooked me. I've also found lots of great friends who are willing to help me improve.
Tell us a little about yourself.
Haha, I hate these questions... I'm never sure where to start. Let's see... I like to write, a lot, and devour any good books I can get my hands on. At the moment I'm a bit behind with thigns as my computer died on me (it was mourned) but writing on paper in pen and pencil is feeling really nice right now. Oh, and for the random note, I'm going to be doing medical testing for cash! Yay for me!
What's the story behind your username?
My username started out as my name, plus my favorite color, plus a fun viking sort of name. It just stuck, too, because my friends used to call me "L'il Red" because of my hair color.
What's your favorite piece from your own gallery and why?
My favorite piece has to be "Recorded", fav.me/d2hzd5v because I think that it's the best sort of discriptive and visual piece I've ever written. I won a Daily Literature Deviations, and a few friends have recommended it for an actual DD, but that's not worked out so far, heh.
What are your pet peeves on dA and in general?
Pet peeves on deviantart... I can make quite a list, but it's not that bad. Mostly I'm still bothered by a seeming lack of respect for those that do solely literary work and nothing visual. But that's just me. In general, I don't like loud snorning or having to clean up when my cat pukes.
If there was something you could change about deviantART, what would it be?
If there was something I could change it would be a more literature friendly commenting system. I've seen prototypes of floating comment boxes, which would help SO MUCH if someone was doing a critique for a deviant who didn't have a sub, or just for a detailed editing on your own or someone else's work.
Are there any groups you're involved in that you'd like to share with us?
I am currently involved in two groups right now: one group devoted to developing original characters , and another just about writing . The second group had a sort of mini nanowrimo that I have failed, as my work was deleted by a dying computer, and now no access to type up what I've worked on...
Do you have any special pet projects on dA, upcoming or ongoing?
Pet projects? Hm... perhaps a few, but they are top secret. :3
Is there anything else you'd like to say?
Not much really... let's just hope this medical testing doesn't make me grow another arm, yeah?

It's Been YEARS!!
So, I haven't been on in years, but...I needed a place to shove some NaNoWriMo calendars. I probably won't be super active, but whatever...
Why I Haven't Submitted Much Art
There are a couple of reasons for this.
One reason is that I'm doing WriYe in 2012. It's like National Novel Writing Month, but you set your own goal 50k or higher, and it lasts all year. It also isn't just for novels, but that's what I'm doing. Since I don't post my writing to dA, I'm more active elsewhere.
The other reason is that I have a backlog of things to do. I have a bunch of clothing that I've made over the last few years that I want to submit to the Artisan Crafts gallery, and I just don't have photographs of it. I also just got married and moved 500 miles at the end of 2011, and some of my pieces (and current projects) were left
In regards to April 1st
As many of you probably know, I don't share the community's general sense of humor, nor do I share that of the community leaders. April Fool's Day on deviantART is never humorous to me, and tends to be annoying at best, in my opinion. So I just won't be on. I will check for group messages before I go to bed tonight, March 31st, and fairly early on April 2nd, so that any delay to the groups I monitor is minimal. I'm going to be enjoying my serious, humorless, joke-free day away from deviantART while other people have their laughs. I'm sure I'll be able to find something serious to work on...like Script Frenzy.
Besides, we're expecting a snows
So You Think You Know Japan
:thumb196826097: :thumb196782482: :thumb196773051:
A lot of people on this site are fans of Japanese culture- the art, the music, the fashion, the language, the comic books and television programs.
But in the neon and electronic world of modern Japan, serious social problems lie hidden beneath the surface, which, as a whole, threaten the dominant society, and, in some cases are exclusive to, or nearly excusive to, Japan.
Many fans of Japanese culture are completely unaware that such problems exist, although a few are mentioned occasionally in anime and manga that is distributed outside of Japan.

grate interview, and on the topic of literature on DA i think i has to with most of the people on here who just dont like to read. Grated some people post really long blocks of sentences, but still most cut them up so its not that hard to read them.
