Interview with :iconleah-the-red:, sci-fi writer.

How did you first discover deviantArt?
I first discovered deviant art through some friends in my senior year of highschool, though it wasn't until last summer that I really got started contributing art.

What made you want to stay?
I think that the possibility to find other people who like and create the same kinds of art while still broadening my visions really hooked me. I've also found lots of great friends who are willing to help me improve.

Tell us a little about yourself.
Haha, I hate these questions... I'm never sure where to start. Let's see... I like to write, a lot, and devour any good books I can get my hands on. At the moment I'm a bit behind with thigns as my computer died on me (it was mourned) but writing on paper in pen and pencil is feeling really nice right now. Oh, and for the random note, I'm going to be doing medical testing for cash! Yay for me!

What's the story behind your username?
My username started out as my name, plus my favorite color, plus a fun viking sort of name. It just stuck, too, because my friends used to call me "L'il Red" because of my hair color.

What's your favorite piece from your own gallery and why?
My favorite piece has to be "Recorded", fav.me/d2hzd5v because I think that it's the best sort of discriptive and visual piece I've ever written. I won a Daily Literature Deviations, and a few friends have recommended it for an actual DD, but that's not worked out so far, heh.

What are your pet peeves on dA and in general?
Pet peeves on deviantart... I can make quite a list, but it's not that bad. Mostly I'm still bothered by a seeming lack of respect for those that do solely literary work and nothing visual. But that's just me. In general, I don't like loud snorning or having to clean up when my cat pukes.

If there was something you could change about deviantART, what would it be?
If there was something I could change it would be a more literature friendly commenting system. I've seen prototypes of floating comment boxes, which would help SO MUCH if someone was doing a critique for a deviant who didn't have a sub, or just for a detailed editing on your own or someone else's work.

Are there any groups you're involved in that you'd like to share with us?
I am currently involved in two groups right now: one group devoted to developing original characters :iconyouasthenarrator:, and another just about writing :iconauthorsescape:. The second group had a sort of mini nanowrimo that I have failed, as my work was deleted by a dying computer, and now no access to type up what I've worked on...

Do you have any special pet projects on dA, upcoming or ongoing?
Pet projects? Hm... perhaps a few, but they are top secret. :3

Is there anything else you'd like to say?
Not much really... let's just hope this medical testing doesn't make me grow another arm, yeah?

grate interview, and on the topic of literature on DA i think i has to with most of the people on here who just dont like to read. Grated some people post really long blocks of sentences, but still most cut them up so its not that hard to read them.
