How to Bind a Book by IsBreaLiomCaife How to Bind a Book by IsBreaLiomCaife

:bulletorange: A Note for Left-Handers: It doesn't matter whether you go right to left or left to right.
:bulletyellow: A Note for Metrics Users: Measurements given aren't precise. A metric ruler works just as well. Just keep your markings in close-ish clumps
:bulletgreen: It is suggested that you don't use fabric heavier than denim. For particularly light-colored or thin fabric: use cardboard that's close in color to the fabric so it doesn't show through.
:bulletblue: Questions? Feel free to put them in the comments section. I'd rather you didn't note questions about this to me, since someone else probably has the same question.

I no longer have access to some of the recommended supplies, sadly. They don't come out quite as neatly if you don't have a bone folder and an awl.

Personally, I learned the official method off of diagrams, albeit diagrams that are far better drawn than what I can personally draw. I'm not sure that I'd even be able to photograph it while keeping the necessary tension on it.

Thanks. I know it's plain without photos, but I couldn't find anything like it at the time, and I'm always glad when it's actually helpful.

Very informative! Great tutorial!
IsBreaLiomCaife Featured By Owner Apr 19, 2011  Hobbyist General Artist's something that's a bit hard to show in writing, even with's easier to show in person, so I was just hoping it would be follow-able. Thanks for confirming that. I learned how to do it years ago in high school graphics, but I couldn't find a good refresher, so when I figured it out again off of the old book I made, this happened.
